In memoriam of Denne Sweeney

From Kirk D. Lyons Chief Trial Counsel SLRC: I have just heard that SCV Past Commander in Chief Denne Sweeney has died. Denne was a true & good friend, a sterling Southern Patriot and one of the great SCV Commander’s in Chief. Denne supported the Sam Davis camp’s and was only one of only 2 CiC’s that ever attended the Camps. Denne’s term as CiC was marred by the coup attempt, which his courage & leadership was critical in thwarting – unfortunately most of his term was taken up in fighting to regain and maintain his office and any program he had for the SCV had to be shelved – if anyone deserved a 2nd term of office it was Denne. Sadly for the SCV, that never happened. Denne is survived by his lovely wife Denice. Rest now, thou good and faithful servant!
